Room 9's classroom plan

With Miss Corbett we learnt about position and scale.  We measured the desks, tables and doors in the classroom and cut them out of colour paper to make an exact plan of our classroom.  Miss Corbett told us about her sister studying to be an architect.

Fruit/Milk in school

The Fruit in Schools programme started in 2006. The reason that there are fruits in schools is because their parents might not have much money and they are expensive to buy. There are still fruits in schools. free milk was given to New Zealand for students until 1937. In the 30 years of the idea’s reality, also lots of kiwi students has drank their daily ration milk. There were milk at schools so the student’s teeth stays stronger. The parents didn’t have much money to buy healthy drinks they only bought dunk food because it was cheap and they had to pay the bills.

My comment to room 10

This is my comment to Navid's blog

Mahdia Conflict Information Report

World War 1 Not many people know that in 1914 a Serbian man named Gavrilo Princip shot the Austrian Franz Ferdinand and his wife, When the small countries were defeated and were made to give back the lands they took, they promised to follow the rules as the allied forces did , Germany promised to back them up, they declared war on serbia,a war is when 2 people or 2 groups of people starts to become enemies and get in a conflict, they also use weapons to try to injure each other. Did you know that Great Britain was helping Austria to defeat Serbia, the Austrians were mad at the death of the man who would have been their next king. The European countries was excepting war, so that different countries had already agreed to cooperate and support each other. As strange as it may seem 65 million soldiers had to fight in the war, sadly 8.5 million died, and 21 million was injured, and the people who didn't become a soldier had to lose the ones that they loved, they had to lose their house and poverty and became ill and hungry. The families life changed effectively as everyone lived in fear of what happened next. America used shotguns during the war, Mustard gas was the most famous weapons in use by the Germans. Not many people know that the soldiers wore masks to protect them from the horrible new gas called poison gas, and that poison gas caused blind and death by choking. When the Americans used shotguns the Germans said that shotguns are banned because most Germans got injured really badly, [but the Americans meant to kill them]. In the war they used submarines, mines and other sorts of guns. They used battleships, cruisers, dreadnoughts, mines and destroyers. In January the Paris Peace session began, leaders from all the countries that had been in the war, were there. One of the nations was to try to stop another war happening by acting as peacemaker and talking about any problems. The treaty of Versailles was peace treaty that is signed between leaders of Germany and the leaders of the allied places. German chiefs had lost lots of powers and did not agree to everything because they had thought there were too many strict rules so some changes had to be made. so everyone agreed to changes and on June 28 1919 the treaty was signed. The peace was formally declared and everyone felt safe again. Did you know that after the war the land became peace, they all agreed to the new rules and on june 28, 1919 peace was formally declared and everyone started to feel safe again. But there were so many things destroyed also the family of these brave soldiers had no dad and the mother had to do all of the jobs, but they were also very proud and we wear red poppies to remember them on ANZAC. 65 million soldiers had to fight, 8.5 million died and 21 million was injured really badly, and to those who didn’t become a soldier, had lost their family and became ill and hungry.
